BACKPACK/TORSO LENGTH SIZES
Depending on pack volume and intended use the suspension system of a backpack becomes an essential feature. Defining torso length is not necessarily critical on a daypack but crucial on backpacking or alpine touring packs, as only perfect fit can warrant transfer of a bulk of the pack weight to the hips.
The center of the hipbelt ideally rests on the hip bone crest (pelvis) in order to bear the bulk of the load (refer to diagram) especially on large internal frame backpacks. But no rule without exceptions and sometimes a shorter torso length is better, for example in alpine or mountaineering situations where a short back allows easy access to the climbing harness.
How to measure torso length
Use a measuring tape to measure the distance between the top edge of the shoulders or C7 vertebrae (the one that protrudes when facing down) to the top crest of the hip bone (pelvis).
Backpack Suspension Size Ranges:
Medium (M) = 19 - 20.5 in / 48 - 52 cm
Long (L) = 21 - 23 in / 53 - 58 cm
Note: Even the most elaborate suspension system can only work perfectly when fitted correctly! And as no two backs are identical, we recommend testing backpacks with sample weights in an outdoor specialty shop.

Yelp, maybe I am kind of like the princess and the pea when comes to getting a good night sleep. My MegaMat Duo dampened all sorts of peas and I sleep like a baby. Big +1 to Exped and their mats!

This is easily the most comfortable portable mattress I have used. This is why it saddens me to give three stars. I only got to use it once, and then upon airing it out on the floor at home my cat ran across it and punctured it in several places with his claws and no amount of glue or patches will resolve the leaks. I've spent hours and hours trying to patch them. I would like to get another eventually, but they are quite costly. Lesson learned: keep away from cat claws and other sharp objects (thorns, sticks, etc.).

Love this thing. Works great inside my 4Runner for car camping. I’ve even used it in the house when my regular bed has made my back hurt. Only thing I wish I had done differently is wait 2 weeks for the Black Friday sale and got the 7.5 version for $130ish versus this one for full price. Oh well that’s my fault not Exped.

We have an RV and a wedge tent on our truck, both are queen sized and less than comfortable. The RV is way too soft and springy, the wedge is very firm. We bought this Exped and have been using it as a mattress topper in both locations. It’s been great. It will get as firm or soft as you want, there isn’t a lot of motion transfer if your partner moves around (there is some but it’s not like an air mattress from college) We are just over 4 weeks into our trip and this has been well worth the investment.
