EXPED tents can be set up in many different ways for optimal comfort in changing conditions. But one specific environmental condition, known as CAVU in aviation circles, might be our favorite. CAVU stands for "ceiling and visibility unlimited" and many of our tents have a set-up mode that takes full advantage it. We call it Optimist Mode™, and it allows views of the stars while keeping crawly things and insects out.
But this post isn't really about that. Instead, it's about celebrating the conditions that prompt us to employ such an optimistic tent configuration. So here are a few photos we've gathered from beneath CAVU skies. Enjoy!
