Product Description
FIRM • SOFT • PLUSH • LUXURY
The EXPED LuxeMat (patent-pending) is the ultimate sleeping mat for those serious about camping comfort, combining the MegaMat's legendary support and comfort with an organic cotton cover and RWS certified wool insulation. It is perfect for basecamp, car camping, van life, or even guests at home.
In addition to being warm, the unique wool-insulated, organic cotton topper provides superior moisture-regulating properties for the best sleeping comfort. Our sheep wool is certified according to the highest animal welfare standards.
Like MegaMat, the 3-D construction provides edge-to-edge support while 4-inches of open-cell foam provide plush sleeping comfort. Two flat valves facilitate inflation as well as deflation.
Conveniently located pockets on the side of the mat allow for smaller items to be stored and easily accessed after storage.
LuxeMat's ripstop shell increases durability and longevity, a core tenet of EXPED's sustainable design philosophy. The core-cover design allows the mat cover to be washed by hand. Included is a mini pump and our Sidewinder Bag for quick and easy packing.
The LuxeMat is the perfect companion for the LuxeWool Blanket and the LuxeWool Pillow.

FAQs
What is R-value?
R-value is a measure of thermal resistance. It indicates the efficiency of insulation by measuring its resistance to heat transfer. The higher the number, the slower the rate of heat transfer through an insulation.
In EXPED sleeping mats, higher R-values help sleepers retain the heat their bodies generate and the result is the pleasant and sometimes elusive condition called warmth!
Can I use an electric pump to inflate my mat or pillow?
You can use an EXPED electric pump, such as the Widget or Mega Pump, to inflate your mat. The power level of our pumps are within an appropriate range to where they are unlikely to damage your mat.
We do not recommend the use of any electric pumps other than our own as using too powerful of a pump can overinflate your mat and cause irreparable damage.
What do I do if my mat isn't inflating on its own?
When our mats are stored in a compressed state for prolonged periods, the interior foam gets used to its compressed (rolled-up) shape and can cause sluggish self-inflation of the mat.
We also like to point out (since many overlook it) that the mats come with an “inflation wedge” (looks like a zipper pull) piece next to the inflate valve. This is designed to be inserted between the plastic valve wall and the green silicone “flapper” seal to create an adequate gap for air to enter the mat. If your mat’s foam seems compressed, filling the pad to full inflation (until the mat is firm) and leaving it inflated for a few hours should be enough to de-compress the memory foam and restore the mat's self-inflating ability for subsequent uses.
How do I clean my mat?
We recommend washing the removable cover by hand. Use a mild wool detergent in warm water, gently press a few times, do not rub, rinse well. Lay flat to air dry. Do not wring or iron. No bleach, no fabric softener, no dry cleaning.
If you need to clean the inner mat, the first step is to make sure all valves are fully closed. We recommend cleaning your mat with warm water and a mild soap. Do not use bleach to clean your mat. If needed, you can use a rag or soft sponge to carefully scrub the mat.
After using soap, rinse it well. Ensure that both the mat and cover are fully dry before putting the cover back on and putting your mat away. Do not put your mat in a washing machine or dryer.
How should I store my mat?
Store your mat in a cool, dry place, unrolled with the valves open and out of reach of pets with claws.
Rooftop Tents:
It’s fine to use and store the mat in a rooftop tent while on a trip, but in warmer climates, we recommend leaving the valve caps open during the daytime as a precaution so that the mat cannot overinflate from the heat of sun exposure.
In general, it's good to keep the mat somewhere cool and dark to minimize damage from excessive heat or UV radiation. It’s also best not to keep your mat in a rooftop tent year round for long-term storage.
