For carrying gear in truly wet and stormy weather, a roll-top closure is an easily accessible and secure solution. Torrent 20 is the smallest of the Torrent series (see also Torrent 30 and 45) and its compact size makes it just right for day hikes in any conditions. Built with extremely durable, 840-denier Oxford nylon, it will take a great deal of abuse and, like the other Torrent packs, is often used for rugged activities such as canyoning, where packs are sometimes lowered or hauled across abrasive rock surfaces. Its welded seams and TPU film laminated fabric (10,000mm water column rating) ensure a completely waterproof main compartment and the roll-top closure (secured with quick-closing small carabiners) makes for a pack that will withstand a soaking.
Ergonomically contoured shoulder straps include a sternum strap with sliding anchors for a custom fit and excellent load control. An easily removable hip strap further stabilizes heavier loads when necessary. A haul loop is anchored to the top of the pack at the shoulder straps, making even heavy loads graspable. The stout frame sheet and segmented, breathable and quick-drying spacer-foam pads keep the load comfortable, under control and allow water to drain quickly. The pack bottom is angled, rather than flat or squared off, to drive the load into the hips and small of the back for increased stability. An outer pocket, with weather-resistant zipper, gives access to small items. A bike light attachment loop and reflective logo help with visibility while biking.
Internally, Torrent 20 includes a neoprene notebook/tablet sleeve for urban uses and a small mesh pocket secures keys and wallet.
